The Walker Cup 1922-2023 Centenary Edition

The USGA is pleased to offer for purchase a limited quantity of ‘The Walker Cup 1922-2023, Golf’s Finest Contest, Centenary Edition’ by Gordon G. Simmonds, published by Grant Books Ltd. To date three limited hardback editions of his definitive history of the match have been published: the first in 2000, the second in 2004, and the third in 2023. Simmonds is the official biographer of The Walker Cup.

This 3rd edition of the popular book represents a significant departure in format from the previous volumes. Running to 384 pages it has been fully revised and an enlarged size has been adopted. The book is divided into 10 chapters and features the history of the contest from its inception to the present day, and includes detailed information about the players, teams, and matches.

To celebrate the centenary match which took place at St. Andrews in September 2023, Simmonds has meticulously refreshed his history and added statistical appendices, including hundreds of extra photographs, and additional reports for the matches played between 2005 and 2023. The book contains new forewords from Peter McEvoy and Fred Ridley, both of whom played in and captained Walker Cup teams

This hardcover limited-edition book of 3,600 copies is a must-have for any golf enthusiast or collector of sports memorabilia.
